A young squirrel takes on her papa’s legacy to banish an evil weather spirit before it turns their home into a sea and drowns Desertkind. Her migrant lizard friend joins her, hoping to earn a place in society. An apprentice sentry bird discovers a powerful object and terrible secret he can’t ignore. The original crested saguaro who inspired the cactus king character is no longer at the Desert Botanical Garden. The pictures on this page show a crested saguaro in another part of the garden.
